December Geek A Palooza!

'Tis the season to be stressed out, grumpy and overwhelmed! Hooray?

We are going to turn all that around my dear nerds. This December, we at the Geek Girls Book Club are going to have ourselves a party. I don't care what your religious affiliation is, or if you have none at all. This time of year gets to the most stoic geek, and we all need to have some well deserved fun.

So, here's the plan:

~The book for December is the amazing Bonnie Burton's Star Wars Craft Book
If you are so inclined, you can pick this up about everywhere, but I love to buy from local bookstores and Think Geek when I can.
You just need to buy/borrow/adore a copy and pick out one or every craft in the book. Then post those photos to Twitter (@NikkiSticks #GGBC) Facebook or Google +.  We are going to have an internet geek crafting blowout. You can keep the crafts for yourself, use them as gifts, or organize a crafting party with your IRL friends and/or kids. Not crafty? See the next phase:

~ Do you remember your favorite children's/preteen/teen story? One that really meant something to you? Helped you to love reading and gave you a real adventure? I want you to find that story and re read it. Then I want you to share that story. That could mean reading it to a fledgling geek you love, sharing it with a friend or donating a copy to your local library or a charity like Toys For Tots. What we are after is sharing ourselves and the power of reading. There are almost 500 total GGBC members, and that much power used for good can really change the world, and us, for the better. Let's show 'em what we got geeks!

Post the book you reread and shared and we will have a drawing for some fun prizes and everyone who participates is entered!

Of course, you can do both these things. (I am!) I hope you do. Invite all the crafty, reading fun geeks you know to join us. Let's change a season of stress into a season of awesome geekiness and amazeball amounts of fun. You with me?  Start your nerdy engines and post whenever you want all through December.
