Halloween Read 2016!

It's here! The favorite time of year for all thriller/horror fans. We can't wait to get our fill of movie marathons, and we are always on the lookout for the creepy movie or story we haven't heard, or to go back and read our favorite terror tale.

At GGBC, we always try and pick something that is creepy and a really exciting read, and this year this one was requested many times, so we are finally reading it.

Welcome to October, and our book for Halloween, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson.

From Amazon:

First published in 1959, Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House has been hailed as a perfect work of unnerving terror. It is the story of four seekers who arrive at a notoriously unfriendly pile called Hill House: Dr. Montague, an occult scholar looking for solid evidence of a "haunting"; Theodora, his lighthearted assistant; Eleanor, a friendless, fragile young woman well acquainted with poltergeists; and Luke, the future heir of Hill House. At first, their stay seems destined to be merely a spooky encounter with inexplicable phenomena. But Hill House is gathering its powers—and soon it will choose one of them to make its own.

This is a great classic, and it will be easy to get a hold of just about anywhere. I think you will be glad you did. It's a don't miss for a scary story fan, and incredible to revisit if you have read it in the past.

So join me for the 2016 Halloween read, we start October 1st and end on Halloween. Are you scared of the dark? Baby, you better bring your flashlight. And LOTS of batteries. I'll see you there, I'll be the one with the black cat.
